L.A. punk godfathers X will open four shows for Seattle rockers Pearl Jam in July at gigs in Las Vegas, L.A. and Sacramento, Calif. X singer Exene Cervenkova said the group, which reunited with original guitarist Billy Zoom earlier this year for some critically acclaimed live dates, was excited to be playing a "pretty powerful, fast paced" opening set for PJ. The dates are: July 11 in Las Vegas at a venue to be announced, July 13-14 in L.A. at the Forum and July 16 in Sacramento, Calif., also at a venue still to be determined. "We're not worried about how many people are there to see us versus how many are there to see Pearl Jam," Cervenkova said. "Sure they're fans of ours, why wouldn't they be?" X are just the latest renowned band to be added to the list of openers on PJ's summer tour, which also will feature Cheap Trick and Iggy Pop in the opener slot.
