Justin Timberlake Taps T.I. For 'The 20/20 Experience'

By Georgette Pierre with reporting by Kara Warner

Although he’s off the market for love, he’s definitely not out of the game musically. Last week, Justin Timberlake had the internet buzzing with his Timbaland-produced single featuring Jay-Z called “Suit & Tie.” The chart topping single marked his first piece of new music released in six years and now T.I. tells MTV News that he's been working with JT on his new album.

Tip recently spoke to MTV News while promoting his new movie, “Identity Thief," about his work on JT’s new album. "Yeah, I spoke to JT. Me, him and Tim was on the phone," he explained. "I did a record for them at the end of last year. They were working on a record together, and I had the pleasure of assisting them on their particular record," he said, before revealing the tentative title of one of the songs. "I think it's called 'Goodbye Homey,' one of them is, and then there is another one; I did maybe two or three records with them."

Although he didn’t give too many specifics, T.I. did give a little insight about the track. "Well, 'Goodbye Homey' is really, it's saying goodbye to something that is very special to you," he said. "Not necessarily a person; it could be a time of your life, it could be an experience, it could be a relationship, it could be a friend that's passed on. 'Goodbye Homey,' it has so many meanings and definitions. So when you hear it, you absorb it, and then whatever it means to you is what we intended."

The speculation games begin as we anticipate his new album, The 20/20 Experience, dropping sometime this year.
