Common Is Releasing His First Mixtape This Year

Rapper, actor and activist, Common, plans to kick off the New Year with a lot of new music and a new movie. Earlier this week in an interview with late night host, Jimmy Fallon, the G.O.O.D. Music artist revealed details on multiple projects he planned on releasing this year according to Billboard.

"I'm coming out with an EP at the end of this month that will be accompanying the movie 'LUV.' And then I got a mixtape, my first mixtape I ever done in my life, will be coming out in April. And then an album in September." His new project in September will mark his tenth studio album.

The rapper-actor also revealed details about his new film in which he played a producer role. "It's a coming of age story for an inner city kid who actually goes out with his uncle for a day," he shared. "His uncle wants to show him the good parts of life but he ends up teaching him how to be a man and shows him the good and the bad."

"LUV" hits theaters January 18th.
