Rihanna Appears in 2013 Grammy Awards Ad

By Georgette Pierre

From her 777 Tour to landing her first number one album with Unapologetic, 2012 has shaped up to be a loud year for Rihanna. She set the world on fire, leaving some to question the status of her relationship with ex-Chris Brown. She entertained us with provocative photos of herself via her Instagram. She also announced the U.S. premiere of her style reality show and donated $1.75 million to her native Barbados, but through all the turmoil and excitement, the “Diamonds” singer brings it back to music’s biggest night.

She appears in a new promo for the 2013 Grammy Awards as part of the show’s The World Is Listening campaign. The first ad finds an introspective Rihanna narrating her way to the stage with an encouraging message of not giving up. “When a door closes, you have two choices: give up or keep going. Let them shut you down, or prove them wrong. We all start somewhere; it’s where you end up that counts.”

The pop star is nominated for three awards including Best Pop Solo for “Where Have You Been," Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Talk That Talk," and Best Short Film for “We Found Love.”

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards air February 10th at 8 pm on CBS.
