Lil Wayne Launching Skateboard Clothing Line 'Trukfit'
By most accounts, Lil Wayne has already had a banner 2011. He’s coasting on the success of his “I Am Still Music” tour, which grossed a whopping $47 million in the States alone, plus the 2 million copies sold of his ninth album Tha Carter IV. Still, the 29-year-old mogul is on his entrepreneurial grind. Next year, Weezy will be taking a leap into the world of fashion, with a new line of skateboard apparel.
On January 23 and 24, Lil Wayne will debut his new skateboard-themed clothing line Trukfit in New York City at the Agenda Trade Show-–an annual street and active wear trade show, which highlights well-established clothing companies, and upstart lines looking to make an impact in the industry.
Not too many details have been revealed about Wayne’s upcoming line but a blurb on the Agenda website reads as follows: “Trukfit, the new clothing brand from Grammy Award winning, platinum selling hip hop icon LIL WAYNE, will debut at Agenda in January 2012. The highly anticipated line of uniquely designed apparel was inspired by Lil Wayne’s passion for skateboarding and quality street wear. Pulling influence from Lil Wayne’s distinctive style and voice, Trukfit is made from quality fabrics and features bold graphics at a moderate price point.”
