Kid Cudi Drops 'Mr. Rager' Video

Although Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was released nearly 10 months ago, Kid Cudi has not stopped releasing material from the often overlooked album. On Thursday afternoon Cudi dropped an epic six minute plus video "Mr. Rager." The video finds Cudi viciously fighting his way through hordes of some of the most fashionable gang members this side of “Beat It.”

The video was directed by Jeremie Rozan of Surface to Air Studios. The same Jeremie Rozan who won an EMA for that Justice x Simian Mobile Disco “We are Your Friends” video that Kanye West didn’t like –water under the bridge though. Cudder recently teamed up with Surface to Air’s fashion line for an exclusive line of jackets, which would explain the gritty, well-dressed extras. The video is actually screening at Surface to Air’s Fashion Night Out Party in New York this evening. If you’re in town head on down to the Surface to Air store on 27 Mercer. I’m not saying you can get in but maybe you can meet Rozan who is schedule to be there.

The "Day N Nite" star has been transcending the lines of rap music with each new release, and on his recent song, "Perfect Is The Word" Cudi goes for a distinctively dark rock feel. He is especially proud of the fact that he was able to play the guitar on the track and deliver something worth recording. "It's just some people who are very one-track minded. The world that I am coming from, hip-hop, is so regurgitated and repetitive that some people are used to that and they don't want change, they don't like change," Cudi maintained. "And I get that, that's cool. Luckily for me, I'm confident in myself as an artist where I can do what I want, and as long as I'm cool with it, I'm cool with it."
