Rap isn’t the only thing that Lil Wayne is taking seriously these days. While in the midst of his I Am Still Music Tour Weezy has been hitting the half-pipe skateboarding in his spare time, but last night after his St. Louis performance Birdman Jr. took a spill in a local skate park and was later stitched up.
“The Lou was good but I busted my fuggin head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people,” the Young Money CEO tweeted earlier today.
Missouri Fox affiliate KTVI reported that a woman in the DePaul Health Center emergency room saw Wayne and his entourage rushed in last night. Today, the New Orleans rap star seems to be just fine and sent a message out to his fans via Twitter telling them that they shouldn’t worry. “Thx to u all for the concern but pls know that I will eventually take even harder falls if I wanna get better…and I will. KC I’m on my way,” he wrote.
On Tuesday, Wayne will be performing at the Spring Center in Kansas City, Missouri and then again in L.A. during MTV’s Video Music Awards, where is nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration, on Sunday August 28. After the show, at midnight Weezy F. will finally drop his long awaited Tha Carter IV LP digitally via iTunes, Amazon and other physical retailers.
"I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others," Lil Wayne said in a press statement.
