Curtis Jackson is taking his G-Unit empire across the pond.

The rapper turned actor and entrepreneur inked a deal with European indie label, PIAS Group, to begin distribution of G-Unit’s fledging roster overseas.

24hourhiphop.com reports that G-Unit Records & Entertainment VP Nikki Martin issued the following statement about the transition:

“Last year we took the decision to restructure the label and begin to carve out its own world-wide distribution, marketing and promotions strategy. After signing with EMI for North America, we looked at who could help develop the brand in other key territories and we decided to partner with PIAS who shared our vision and passion for the music.”

G-Unit plans to set up shop in the UK in the very near future, with DJ Dan Greenpeace appointed as the head of operations. Whether G-Unit will change its name once it touches down on international land is unknown.

In the summer of 2010, 50 Cent opted not to renew G-Unit’s contract with Interscope Records and moved over to EMI for North American distribution. The first release under G-Unit’s brand new home was Lloyd Banks’ critically acclaimed Hunger For More 2, which delivered hits including “Beamer Benz or Bentley”, “Any Girl” and “Start It Up”, which also had an official UK remix featuring UK artists Sway and Giggs, as well as Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, and Ryan Leslie.

No word yet on what the first official release will be once G-Unit adds a UK branch or whether or not UK artists will be signed, a la Jay-Z and Roc Nation. However, 50 Cent plans to release a fifth studio album at the close of this year or the beginning of 2012.
