Nicki Minaj Responds To Lil’ Kim’s Alleged Record-Breaking PayPal Sales

By Kathy Iandoli

Perhaps the war between Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj will actually look like Friday the 13th.

On Valentine’s Day (February 14th), Lil’ Kim released her highly anticipated mixtape Black Friday via PayPal for $9.99, a staggering cost compared to most mixtapes being Free.99 (as in, free). The first 100,000 buyers would receive an autographed copy, as Kim tweeted the PayPal link to generate sales.

Within 28 hours (per Kim), the mixtape reached 113,000 sold. “Thanks to you guys!! #lilkimblackfridaymixtape sold 113,000 copies in 28 hours which made me the #1 seller on paypal ever =) !!! THANK U! RT,” Kim tweeted yesterday (February 15th).

Surely Nicki Minaj couldn’t let news like that fly under the radar.

“Bwaahhhhahhahahahahahahahahhahahhhaaahhhhhaaahahahahahahahhhaha!!!!!!!!!! *lifeless* *leaves on stretcher* *cant go on*,” tweeted Nicki, shortly after the news about Kim’s mixtape success reached her own Twitter feed. She then retweeted one of her fan’s cryptic tweets, “The devil is a liar.”

Nicki reached her own milestone success last week, as Pink Friday landed at the number one spot on Billboard since debuting on the charts eleven weeks prior. While Billboard has Soundscan to back up those numbers, the rumor has it that PayPal has no traceable means to record the actual number of Kim’s mixtapes sold. It’s all based on the honor system of Kimmy Blanco, who also responded to Nicki’s tweets with sizeable threats:

“#twitterbeef This is not beef. Real beef is when you get your ass whipped 20 minutes later. CHILD PLEASE!!! #lilkimblackfridaymixtape,” Kim tweeted.

She later amended that tweet with more severe repercussions. “#twitterbeef This is not beef. Real beef is when someone gets shot 5 minutes later. CHILD PLEASE!!! #toomanytwittergangstas #teamlilkim LEGO.”

Lil’ Kim’s Black Friday mixtape contains a number of shots taken at Nicki Minaj, starting with the cover – where Minaj has a severed head and dismembered body in the same outfit as her Pink Friday cover. Kim leaked a song off Black Friday, “Pissin’ On Em” (to the tune of Nicki’s “Did It On Em”) continuing the accusations that Minaj is a “Lil’ Kim clone.”

This could get ugly.
