I'm not sure if it wasn't just a hallucination, but I seem to recall reading

somewhere recently that a major American college (Syracuse, I think) was

getting ready to launch a new department dedicated solely to the study of the

medium of television. Now I must admit that even I, a fully licensed (and

occasionally even compensated) TV analyst, found it difficult to suppress the

urge to snicker at the prospects of a fully accredited "TVU." I mean, imagine the

possibilities for such earth-shaking academic pursuits as, say, "From Stinky to

Newman: The Role of the Adversarial Neighbor in Situation Comedy"...
