Fan Film 'Assassin’s Creed: Checkmate' Debuts Today On Machinima
Sure, "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" hero Edward Kenway is a pirate and high-seas hijacker, but when it comes to land-based theft, he has to draw a line in this new short.
"Assassin's Creed: Checkmate" was created by Joe Miale, who both wrote and directed the short which serves as a little side mission for pirate Edward Kenway, played by Reuben Langdon. This is Miale's fourth produced short as a writer with the upcoming "Half-Life: Raise the Bar."
Langdon's the interesting story here, with a list of credits coordinating stunts and providing motion capture for films and games like "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," "Avatar," and this October's "Batman: Arkham Origins." Here, he's got Edward's look and moves down as the pirate thrashes a group of thieves in a seedy tavern (although what kind was there in the Age of Pirates?"
"Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" will be available on October 29th for the PS3, PC, Wii U, and Xbox 360 with the Xbox One and PS4 versions available at launch.
