Starhawk Gets Improved Split-Screen And Dual-Login!

Split-screen gaming was the original multiplayer experience, but things just haven't been the same since the online playing field has taken over. However, Starhawk is looking to revamp the split-screen featured in Warhawk with an improved layout, larger radar maps and improved aspect ratio. Sony has also revealed a new dual-login feature.

Unfortunately, those of us who loved playing 4-player split-screen in Warhawk are out of luck. Apparently Sony did some research into how many people actually used the 4-player feature and came to the conclusion that it wasn't a big deal to live it out. While this will surely disappoint many gamers, at least the 2-player split-screen is on track.

Another new feature that Sony revealed for the upcoming game is dual-login, which will let two players sign in to their PSN account and gain permanent stats while playing co-op or head-to-head multiplayer. While dual-login has been a pretty standard feature for many Xbox 360 titles, including Call of Duty and Halo games, PS3 gamers haven't had many title that allow them to do this. Sadly, there is one drawback to the new feature; whoever plays in the player two slot using dual-login will not be able to earn trophies or character customizations (outfits, paint jobs, decals) as these items are saved to the PS3 hard drive rather than your PSN account.

Starhawk will be available for PS3 beginning May 8th
