A funny thing happened at Microsoft's Game Developers Conference showcase yesterday...or it would have been funny, if it wasn't so foul-smelling.

To properly hype its titles pre-Conference, Microsoft rented out a good portion of the Hotel Compton in San Francisco. Members of the press got to sample such games as Fable 2, Mass Effect, Shadowrun, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and others...

Visitors to the Mass Effect room got more than a game demonstration. One of the visitors, to put it mildly, had not bathed in, roughly,  forever. And the odor, according to those who had to sit in the room after this pungent soul, was debilitating.

A hotel worker had to be called in to deodorize the room. Meetings had to be halted while the poor hotel employee worked his magic.
