Counting Crows' Adam Duritz Has More Comedies In The Pipeline

"All the [Broken] Lizard guys and I have been talking about scripts to do together" says Adam, laughing as he thinks about some of the ideas they've been tossing around.

"I was trying to weasel a way for me to be in 'Super Troopers 2’ yesterday. The guys were like 'Whoa, whoa, whoa. To get that, you've gotta do this other thing... I told them, 'What if me and Willie [Nelson] do it together?' and they said I might be onto something."

Willie, who made an appearance in Broken Lizard’s “Beerfest” sounds like he’s another musical talent who’s been inducted as an honorary member of the Lizard troupe. Adam wouldn’t specify what adventure he and Willie would possibly share, but the very mention of it had him cracking up.

With as much fun as he's having making movies, Adam wants to keep his cinematic ventures on the lighter side of things. Like Joel McCrea's realization in "Sullivan's Travels" (one of Adam's favorite films, in which he finds a lot of creative inspiration), it's only comedies from here on out.

"I only kind of want to work with the Lizards, though... I don't have any desire to make serious movies ever. I just don't give a f--k. I don't need an Oscar."
