On the season premiere of "16 and Pregnant," we were introduced to Maddy, a high school junior and gifted athlete who got pregnant after having a one-night stand with Cody, a boy she met on Facebook. To their surprise, what began as a casual hookup led to the start of a lifelong relationship once Maddy found out she was expecting.

During the episode, we saw Maddy struggle with whether or not she should "be" with her daughter Aubrey's father, even though they barely knew each other, and stress over where she would live after the baby was born. Her own mother, Jen, made it crystal clear that Maddy had exactly one month after giving birth to find a new place.

Jen had just had a child herself three months earlier, yet she appeared to have little sympathy for her daughter's situation. "It's hard for me to see my baby with a baby inside her," she said to Maddy. "I told you from Day One, I would always kick you out if you got pregnant at 16." When Maddy asked her mom to reconsider, Jen wouldn't back down, insisting, "There's no room and it's not fair to everyone else in the house."
