MTV’s newest resident sex and relationship guru Dan Savage is trekking across the country to enlighten America's coeds and help them better understand the sexual culture that exists today. But what happens once Dan offers his pearls of wisdom to the eager undergrad? We usually don't get to see the students put his advice into practice, but luckily our own MTV family members can show us all how it's done. This week's advice in action: Wipe the slate clean.

On last week's episode of "Savage U," Dan and Lauren continued their college tour with a stop at Ohio State University. During their short time as honorary Buckeyes, the pair joined a group of rowdy football fans and got schooled in the art of OSU cheers. In between the beer pong lessons and questions about girl-on-girl kissing, they heard an inspiring story from a young woman who protected herself against an aggressive d-bag, and offered some orgasmic tips to a couple looking to spice things up in the dorm room. Then they met Josh, a sensitive guy who thought he'd found his dream girl--that is, until his Ms. Right suddenly turned into Ms. Totally Not Into It.

Josh met up with Dan to ask for some help in dealing with the aftermath of rejection. He worried that his decision to take things slow--she was serious girlfriend material, or so he thought--was a turnoff to this potential mate. Professor Savage encouraged Josh to move on and hold out for someone who respects him and his relationship choices. After all, there are plenty of other Buckeyes in the...wherever Buckeyes live. It's only a matter of time before our man Josh finds a girl who's worthy of calling herself his GF. But, before he can dip back into the dating pool, he's got to stop pining over his latest fling and accept the fact that she's a lost cause. Jason, MTV's own beloved Midwestern-bred, Ivy League-educated twentysomething Brooklynite, found himself in a similar situation on "I Just Want My Pants Back."

After spending a wild night with a sexy klepto who was turned on by kitchen appliances, Jason was fully smitten. Even though Jane stole his favorite pair of jeans and gave him a fake phone number--early warning signs of a doomed relationship, perhaps?--J was convinced that his kinky fridge mate was also his future wife. As with every good love story, the pair finally reunited at a party for an organic adult magazine and instant sparks were reignited. All seemed right with the world until Jane dropped a bomb: She had a boyfriend. (Cue: collective audience sigh). After some brief but intense soul-searching, Jason told Jane that he didn't want to play second fiddle to her boyfriend. As Dan Savage would say, he DTMFA'ed the girl he'd been obsessed with all season. In a scene that can only be described as intensely satisfying and a little badass, Jay told Jane to call him once she sorts through her baggage:

Jason finally decided that he was done waiting around for a girl that wasn't waiting for him. He manned up, expressed his true feelings and walked away with his head held high. We have every faith that eventually Josh can follow in Jason's footsteps and get past his own broken heart, but first he needs to wipe the slate clean, mend his tattered heart and put himself back out there.
