Evanescence's 'Fallen' Songs, Ranked By How Much They Bring You To Life

How can you see into my eyes like open doors?

Channel your repressed preteen angst -- dig deep, I know it's in there somewhere -- because Evanescence is briefly reuniting! The band announced that starting ? Friday, Nov. 13 ?, they'll be touring through Los Angeles, Nashville and Dallas en route to their headlining show at OzzFest in Tokyo, Japan.

"We got offered to do Ozzfest Japan in the beginning of the year," lead singer Amy Lee told Rolling Stone, "so I was like, 'Let’s say yes to that.' I just added the three U.S. dates on to it so we could get a little practice before doing a big gig where everything is out of your control."

Maybe it's just me and my weirdness, but I spent the better part of sixth grade (badly) singing along to Evanescence's debut album, Fallen. I knew all the words to all the songs and had no idea what any of the lyrics actually meant because yo, I was 11, give me a break.

It's been over a decade since that classic album dropped in 2003 and with the band now ~reuniting~, it's time to revisit the songs that had us doodling on our Chuck Taylors and worshipping Amy Lee's haunting vocals. I'm internally sobbing right now because they aren't hitting up the east coast. If they were, I'd drop everything immediately and get my ass to that show, because I never got the chance to see them perform. ?

In the meantime, I'm making due by ranking Fallen's songs by how much they bring you to life -- that is, how much they make you want to get out of your seat and jam out -- and listening to the album on repeat. Now it's your turn...

"Hello"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken"

Before Adele said "Hello," Amy Lee did. Hi, guys! ?

"My Immortal"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "There's just too much that time cannot erase"

THAT PIANO. Dear god, that piano.

"Imaginary"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "I lie inside myself for hours / And watch my purple sky fly over me"

Soooo is this about drugs or nah? (Yes, I know it's not actually about drugs, relax. But it still sounds pretty damn trippy.)

"Haunted"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Fearing you, loving you /

I won't let you pull me down"

Easily the ? spookiest ? song on the album.

"Everybody's Fool"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Without the mask, where will you hide? /

Can't find yourself, lost in your lie"

You totally sang along to this while mentally picturing that snotty girl in your class who was basically the Regina George of middle school.

"My Last Breath"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Look for me in the white forest hiding in a hollow tree"

The line "I can taste it in your tears" still kind of weirds me out, TBH.

"Taking Over Me"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "You saw me mourning my love for you and touched my hand /

I knew you loved me then"

These were the breakup songs we jammed to before Big Sean's "IDFWU" came along.

"Tourniquet"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Will you be on the other side

or will you forget me?"

I'm 100% sure I had zero clue what a tourniquet even was when I listened to this song.

"Going Under"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Don't want your hand this time / I'll save myself"

Yeah jerk, I'll save myself, thanks. BYE. ?

"Whisper"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Never sleep, never die"

#dark

"Bring Me To Life"

Angsty lyrics you swooned over: "Wake me up inside (I can't wake up)"

OBVIOUSLY. As if you expected any other song to top this list.
