Marvel's next superhero, "Doctor Strange," is a very dapper sort of dude to look at. The bold cape! Those fancy gloves! The impeccably trimmed facial hair! It's not hard to picture Benedict Cumberbatch totally rocking the final costume as we get closer to the film's release.
But in these first-ever pictures taken during filming, Cumberbatch hasn't quite mastered his iconic look juuuuust yet. Instead he's sporting a majestically scraggly beard, long raincoat and khaki pants as he move through the streets of Kathmandu, Nepal.
Is it just me or is anyone else getting flashback Oliver Queen vibes, here? Especially when you get that beard close-up:
But actually, flashback sequence wouldn't be that unlikely -- after all, Stephen Strange did get that namedrop in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" as a potential threat to U.S. government interests, so it stands to reason that he's already got his powers by the time Marvel's Phase 2 is chronologically over.
Either way, at least we know Benedict Cumberbatch's really good at cleaning up well, right?
"Doctor Strange" is due to hit theaters November 4, 2016.
