'Hunger Games': See The Haunting First Live Performance Of 'Hanging Tree'

Spooky!

Jennifer Lawrence's raw performance of "The Hanging Tree" in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" gave us chills galore last year and had us humming songs of revolution under our breath, and the very first live orchestral performance of the piece has a similar effect.

At a concert in Vienna earlier this week, titled "Hollywood in Vienna," the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra performed a tribute to composer James Newton Howard. Howard, who composed "The Hanging Tree" for "Mockingjay," was honored with the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award and received congratulatory messages from legendary composer Hans Zimmer and director M. Night Shyamalan.

However, it's the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony's rendition of "Hanging Tree," with vocals by Edita Malovčić and conducting by the Boston Pops Orchestra's Keith Lockhart, that's really sticking with us.

Watch the moving tribute to this memorable piece of movie music in the clip below.
