Just because she's being used as a pawn in Lily Salvatore's sick little game, Caroline Forbes doesn't need to be saved on "The Vampire Diaries." She can save herself. After all, she's done it before.

If there's one thing we've learned in seven seasons of "TVD," it's that you can't keep Caroline down, even when she's being tortured at the hands of werewolves, Heretics and her own dad. Her resilience is one of the many reasons we love her, and over the years, we've watch our Blondie grow from a self-absorbed, neurotic mess to a kickass vampire heroine who doesn't need to wait around to be saved. So without further ado, here are 11 times Caroline didn't need anyone to save her on "The Vampire Diaries":

When Caroline managed to escape Damon's clutches by running into the sun.

The may be on good-ish terms now, but once upon a time, Damon used Caroline as his own person blood bag/plaything. (Not cool, Damon.) Back in Season 1, Damon intended to kill Blondie for her blood, only to be outsmarted by Caroline, who ran into the sun to protect herself. (Stefan had taken Damon's ring prior to the these events.)

When Caroline confronted Damon at the carnival.

Another side effect of vampirism? Remembering all of the things you were compelled to forget as a human. When Caroline became a vampire at the beginning of Season 2, she remembered everything Damon did to her as a human. Needless to say, when she confronted him at the Mystic Falls carnival that night to deliver Katherine's message, we were 100 percent #TeamCaroline.

When she saved Elena from Mason Lockwood.

...and then kicked his butt. Werewolf strength has got NOTHING on Caroline Forbes, especially when her best friend is in danger.

When Caroline killed two deputies.

Caroline probably didn't want to reveal her secret vampire identity to her mom quite like this, but it made for one epic fight sequence. In an effort to save Damon and Stefan, Elena and Caroline rushed into the Lockwood cellar, where Liz had just instructed two deputies to kill the Salvatores, and Caroline tore that place to shreds. After killing the two deputies, Care, covered in blood, emerged from the shadows and revealed her true self to her mom.

When she knocked Matt out to break up his fight with Tyler.

Sometimes saving yourself means saving yourself from uncomfortable situations, and for Caroline, that was breaking up Matt and Tyler's fist fight during the Lockwood party. Matt was brainwashed into fighting with Tyler so that he'd have to kill him -- and therefore, activate his werewolf gene. Caroline saved her boyfriend from certain death, but she couldn't save Tyler from his own self-fulfilling werewolf prophecy.

When Caroline stayed with Tyler through his first werewolf transformation.

She sacrificed her own safety to be there for Tyler when he needed her most. That's what friends are for.

When Caroline and Rebekah teamed up to take down Alaric.

When Alaric was in prime Original vampire mode in Season 3, he captured and tortured Caroline with pencils and vervain-soaked cloth in order to get Elena's attention. He was a real d--k that season. When Rebekah found herself at the receiving end of one of Alaric's attacks, Caroline came to her rescue and the two Vampire Barbies kicked serious ass together.

When she fought an army of ghosts to save Tyler's mom.

By Season 3, Caroline had transformed into a glorious badass, and when ghosts from the Other Side started wreaking havoc on Mystic Falls, she stepped right in and started taking care of business.

When she threw Klaus' bracelet on the floor

Caroline knew Klaus was unpredictable -- he's a murderer, after all -- but that didn't stop her from going straight up to the big bad wolf and throwing the bracelet he gave her on the floor. Caroline was the only one who could stand up to Klaus without getting her head (literally) bitten off.

When Caroline saved Stefan from the Travelers.

In Season 5, Caroline and Stefan were trying to find the cure for the Ripper virus, and in order to do so, the Travelers needed to link a doppelgänger to its counterpart. When Stefan volunteered for the job, Caroline saved him the from having to endure the suffering -- and fought off some powerful Travelers in the process.

Oh, and when she kicked Damon's butt and saved her dad.

"I'm stronger than you, little girl," said Damon. "Well I'm angrier," Caroline replied. Cue a blinding head-butt to the face. Yaaassss Caroline.
