An Artist Reimagined Historical Figures As Urban Outfitter-Clad Hipsters

They're basically the Jane and Trent Lanes from our history books.

You know what people from history lacked? No, it's not modern technology, Batman or Whole Foods. It's actually stores like Urban Outfitters and American Apparel. Duh.

Artist Amit Shimoni was the answer to our prayers after we've spent years wondering what President George Washington would look like in a pimpin' pink jacket. Shimoni's illustration series "Hipstory" reimagines what famous people from history (both living and dead) would look like as connoisseurs of preppy clothing. The wait is over, folks. Behold the revolution!

For starters, Abraham Lincoln would rock an earring and gold chain.

Mahatma Gandhi would keep the peace with his dope tie-dye shirt and round-rimmed specs.

John F. Kennedy would possess the flyest hair known to mankind, and wear what appears to be a Marilyn Monroe shirt.

Hillary Rodham Clinton would participate in the #GrannyHair trend, but add her own touch to it because she's running for president and no one can stop her.

Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. would show off his gold cross and "Dream Big" hat.

Dalai Lama's glasses would scream "hipster," but nobody would care because he's the Dalai Lama and can do what he wants.

Queen Elizabeth II would don a flower headdress thing and wear it flawlessly.

And President Barack Obama would have a killer up-do and several tattoos.
