Chris Christie Says ‘Weakling’ Obama Can’t Handle Russia

He'd also tell 'Vladimir' that the U.S. would enforce a 'no-fly zone' in Syria.

If Chris Christie were elected president, his first move would be to step-up the United States' actions when dealing with the Russians in Syria, the 2016 presidential hopeful told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Monday (Oct. 12.)

“My first phone call would be to Vladimir [Putin], and I’d say, ‘Listen, we’re enforcing this no-fly zone,'” Christie said, as a way of showing off the United States' muscle in the Syrian current conflict. “And I mean we’re enforcing it against anyone, including you. So don’t try me. Don’t try me. Because I’ll do it.”

He added that he thought the Russian president has been "punching above his weight" recently, with the latest news of the country's airstrikes against Syrian rebels (that the U.S. trained) and in favor of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Referring to President Obama as "this weakling in The White House," Christie said that he wouldn't get "pushed around."

This isn't the first time Christie has made his thoughts on Obama's dealings with Russia explicitly clear. In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Christie said he thought the United States needed to "take action" against Putin's airstrikes and "take him down."
