We've shared the many virtues of the menstrual cup -- from their humanitarian value to their stigma-busting power -- but now, it looks like our favorite period accessory is stepping into the tech sector.

Billed as "the world's first SMART menstrual cup," the LOONCUP is the first cup that tracks all the details of your period and stores it on an app.

The cup logs tons of useful data about your period: how much fluid is coming out of you (and when it's time to empty it out), your menstruation fluid's consistency and color and your cycle timeline (so there are no surprises).

"LOONCUP is like a personal diary that automatically takes notes. After you start using LOONCUP and the LOONCUP app, it learns and tracks your pattern accurately, giving you a gentle nudge each month when your period is just around the corner," the company said. "It even shows your month-to-month trend."

If this all seems a little TMI for you, we get it. When you have your period, the last thing you want to think about is your period. But, this information -- which is totally not gross and just a part of your body doing its thing -- can be super important for letting you know the status of your overall health.

So maybe don't be so quick to dismiss the ~future~. It's looking pretty awesome.
