JoJo OWNED her Nirvana cover during a recent show in Seattle. 

Here's the thing: JoJo and I snuggled once a while back, and I still can't stop talking about it. (Like, seriously, my friends have stopped inviting me to parties.)

Now, as if to take my JoJo Stan-ship to heights I didn't even think existed, my girl has gone and bravely covered Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," which is, as you know, a record you simply DO NOT TOUCH unless you're positive you can do it justice. And unsurprisingly, JoJo nailed it.

Flying high off the heels of a pitch-perfect SWV "Weak" cover, JoJo boldly tackled Nirvana's Nevermind classic during a tour stopover in Seattle (conveniently located in Nirvana's home state of Washington).

Accompanied by some choppy, grungy guitar licks, courtesy of her backing band, Ms. Levesque spent the majority of her "Smells Like Teen Spirit" cover sounding dark, eerie, sultry, and -- dare we say it? -- full-on rocker chick.

It's a nice change! I mean, true, we might be more accustomed to hearing Jo sing sugary pop ballads like "Andre," "Disaster," and "Anything (Remix)" featuring Casey Veggies, but gritty, grunge JoJo is seriously something we could get used to.

Moral of the story? It's time to add "slaying a rock classic" to the long list of JoJo's many talents. Oh, and unrelated but also very important: Can we just take a sec to say that JoJo's abs are KILLING IT these days? You'll see what we mean at the 22-second mark.
