Justin Timberlake hasn't released an album since his FutureSex/LoveSounds masterpiece in 2006. Not counting collabs such as his 2009 "Carryout" hit with Timbaland and his 2008 smash "4 Minutes" with Madonna (also featuring Timbaland), sexy's gone AWOL since then. Our bodies remain unrocked, and judging by all the water damage bills, we've been crying rivers for years.
But now, everything has changed! FOR THE BETTER! After teasing us out of nowhere with a Twitter countdown, Justin Timberlake is officially "ready." That's right. Justin Timberlake announced an announcement OF AN ANNOUNCEMENT. There's even a Justin Timberlake countdown WEBSITE.
NOOOO!!! But YESSSSS!
Only a pop icon like Justin Timberlake can get away with these sorts of shenanigans. If we can wait a whole seven years for new Justin Timberlake music, another three more days won't hurt. But please, Justin! Hurry. You're tearing up our hearts!
"I don't want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don't love," he explains to us with his oh-so-sexy "Like I Love You" speaking voice while walking through his swanky home (?!)/in-house recording studio. Frankly, he could be reciting formulas from a microphysics textbook, and it would sound just as velvety smooth and delicious. "You just don't get every day. You have to wait for it." Uh huh, yes.
