Viva La Video! 'FNMTV' Revolutionizes Friday Night... And Reinvents the Music Video

MTV played fewer videos. You bitched. We listened. Now listen up. The video is back, and if you like Pete Wentz, then you'll probably think the video just got even better, because FNMTV (AKA MTV's new "Friday Night Show") is about to drop like the Hindenburg.

Here's everything you need to know about FNMTV.

+ FNMTV is MTV's new variety show, with videos, live performances, celebrity appearances and Pete Wentz, who's taking a break from painting his nursery to host the show, with Tim Kash, who looks smashing in a suit, MTV News reporter James Montgomery, and other surprise sorts.

+ The first episode premieres this Friday, June 13th at 8pm ET/PT, AKA "pre-game time," "power hour," or "pre-going-out time" in post-weekday parlance.

+ Each show brings happy little you big live performances -- this week, Buzzworthy House Band Panic At the Disco performs live -- and brand-new videos.

Here's who's stopping by this Friday and the freshly minted videos they're bringing with them:

Flo Rida - "In The Ayer"

The Ting Tings - "Shut Up and Let Me Go"

Snoop Dogg - "My Medicine"

Pussycat Dolls - "When I Grow Up"

And again, in case you didn't hear us the first time we said it, Pete protégées Panic At the Disco are performing live on this Friday's inaugural show. It'll be just like in the olden days, on The Ed Sullivan Show, except we're allowed to show gyrating, obviously, since the Pussycat Dolls are gonna be on. And there won't be old guys.

And because you read this far, here's a little cheeky sneaky peeky at next week's FNMTV show -- the line-up includes live performances by Lil Wayne and Duffy, and new videos from Vampire Weekend, Boys Like Girls, Lil Mama featuring T-Pain, and Shawty Lo.

So. Check out some behind-the-scenes action from James, who's presently getting his nose powdered on the set, and come back to Buzzworthy tomorrow for more exclusive behind-the-scenes reportage from the FNMTV set. And, if you haven't seen them, watch Pete's FNMTV promo spots, featuring Heidi and Spencer, speaking of killing the radio star.

Do not adjust your flat screen (but do adjust your TiVo) -- FNMTV really is bringing videos (Music videos? What? No! Eject!) back to MTV. The revolution will be televised. Again.
