Jimmy Fallon's Bloody Mary Record Was Just Broken By 'Middle of the Night Show' Host

All it took for Brian Murphy was a celery costume and lots of liquid.

A spectacular world record set by Jimmy Fallon has been broken by "Middle of the Night Show" frontman Brian Murphy -- and the trophy is an absurdly oversized Bloody Mary.

In March 2010, "The Tonight Show" funnyman set the record for "The Largest Bloody Mary Garnished With a Late Night Host" by dunking his entire body in 45,889.8 fluid ounces of the savory brunch punch. Back then, it was hard to imagine anyone ever challenging that (or even wanting to). But that was before “MOTNS.”

The MTV show, which promises to surprise celebrity guests like Jordin Sparks and Thomas Middleditch mid-slumber and have them host the show from their bedsides, will debut October 8. But already, its frontman is making waves: Brian “I-probably-still-smell-like-tomato-juice” Murphy is now able to announce that he, and not Jimmy, is the RecordSetter-verified, sole champion of the aforementioned feat.

The CollegeHumor funnyguy came out on top by donning a celery costume and garnishing a giant Bloody Mary (made with the traditional vodka, tomato juice, spices, and Tabasco sauce) exactly 53,721.6 fluid ounces in size. That, for those of you who can’t find the Calculator app, is 7,831.8 fluid ounces more than Jimmy.

We've got the receipts: You can gawk at all the alcoholic, bubbly and probably delicious action in the clip below. Then be sure to see all the other insane stunts tackled by the team on "Middle of the Night Show" on Thursday, October 8 at 11/10c.
