MTV's "True Life: My Fetish Is Ruining My Life" followed two people who were trying to find love in the uncommon world of kink. We had an opportunity to check in with RJ to see how his life has changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at our follow-up Q&A below:

How did it feel to be completely open about your fetish to Spencer?

It was great! Having someone that knows nothing about it, be excited to know about it and see what it's about was really cool. Not having to bring it up myself, but still getting to talk about it, made it so much easier. I didn't feel like I was pressuring him into it. I was able to be myself and be open about what I am into without it chasing him off.

Do you feel more able to openly discuss your fetish now?

I would say so. It's still not a thing that gets talked about daily, but I don't feel like I have to keep it from anyone anymore.

What was it like being followed by MTV cameras?

So weird on the first day. You are super-aware of every single thing you do. After that, it almost becomes routine. There were times when we were shooting and I would completely forget there were cameras around until the producers would say something. I think the weirdest part was actually after it was all over. You go through so much with the crew that once they leave, it's like you've lost a group of really close friends.
