Considering how much time Dr. Leslie Thompkins spends in Detective Jim Gordon's apartment in the first season "Gotham," it was only a matter of time before the two of them ended up with a kid together. But we expected it to happen on the show, not in real life. Guess we were wrong!

"Gotham" stars Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie are expecting a child together, their reps have confirmed to US Weekly today (September 24). While the two had not officially announced their status as a couple yet, they attended this past weekend's Emmy Awards together, and an inside source began telling the media a few days ago that they were dating. Well, a pregnancy announcement is one way to break that news, huh?

Morena has a son from a previous relationship with Austin Chick, with whom she filed divorce from in July. She and McKenzie first met on the set of "The O.C." when she guest-starred as Maya Griffin, and didn't reunite until "Gotham" last year.

This news comes hot off the heels of news that Ben Mckenzie's former "O.C." co-star Adam Brody is also a dad, as his wife Leighton Meester ("Gossip Girl") gave birth to their first child earlier this month. Fingers crossed for a next generation "O.C." television show 20 years from now!
