Jennifer Lawrence was not in attendance at last night's (Sept. 20) Emmy Awards, but she definitely stayed up to watch them -- just so she could send the perfect congratulatory text to her award-winning bestie.

Amy Schumer, best known 'round these parts as "J-Law's jet ski partner in crime," took home the Emmy last night for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for "Inside Amy Schumer."

She also took home a fantastic message from J-Law about how she carried off her big moment on the Emmys stage.

In an interview with ET after the ceremony, Amy shared her famous friend's reaction to the win.

"Jennifer sent me a really sweet text," she said. "She said I looked pretty, but not smart."

Is anyone surprised that J-Law's version of "sweet" is more like "sweet and salty"? Yeah, us neither.
