Here's How Justin Bieber And Travi$ Scott Teamed Up For 'Maria I'm Drunk'

The story behind JB and La Flame's connection.

We already know Justin Bieber and Travi$ Scott have quite the unlikely but close friendship. Now, we’ve finally found out how their “Maria I’m Drunk” collab, which also features Young Thug, came to be.

According to Billboard, JB initiated the recording by FaceTiming La Flame with a request to get on a track together. From there, Travi$ said “Maria I’m Drunk” would be a good fit for Biebs. The song had previously been released with Thugger's verse on it, so this would revamp it for Rodeo.

A day after receiving the track, Justin asked Travi$ to join him at a studio. "As soon as I got to the studio he played it for me,” Travi$ explained. "He already had [his rap verse on it] done. That sh-t was f--king crazy. I went back in and produced over it. That sh-t's so pure!”

As for their bond? Travi$ calls himself “a Bieber fan” and says that he enjoyed JB’s “Runaway” remix with Yeezy, as well as his 2013 single “All That Matters.” In fact, the latter inspired his own “Drugs You Should Try It,” a cut Bieber can’t seem to get enough of.
