Hear Drake Freestyle Over The Weeknd's 'Tell Your Friends' And Behold The True Power Of The 6

EeEeeeEeevolve.

This week's edition of the OVO Sound Radio Beats 1 radio show featured a very romantic Drake freestyling over The Weeknd's already fairly romantic "Tell Your Friends," a Kanye West-produced track from his new album, Beauty Behind The Madness.

Unlike with his recent spat with Meek Mill, Drizzy certainly isn't on the attack on this laidback track that sounds like a perfect evening cruise around the city (Toronto, obviously). He sings more than he actually raps, including stretching the word "evolve" out into seven or eight syllables, which is actually pretty fierce.

"I don't even know what I have anymore," Drake says. Maybe he's got Serena Williams though?

Drake Performs

The Weeknd and Drake go way back together, having come up together in Toronto in the early 2010s. Would it be too much to ask for a super-rendition of "Tell Your Friends" featuring Drake's new contribution sometime in the near future? It has the potential to be straight fire -- though probably not as (literally) fire as The Weeknd's performance at the VMAs last Sunday.

Drizzy isn't the only one to spend some time rearranging The Weeknd's music as of late. Patrick Stickles of the New Jersey punk band Titus Andronicus stopped by the SiriusXM studios for a quieter, more tattered cover of "The Hills," another standout track from Beauty Behind The Madness. It's vulnerable and wounded, just like The Weeknd's original version (when it's not burying its emotion behind a big wall of vocal distortion). Listen below.
