Marvel's 'Luke Cage' Nabs A 'Sons Of Anarchy' Star And A (Bionic?) Leading Lady

Please keep the bionic arm, Marvel. PLEASE.

Matt Murdock has Foggy, Karen and Fisk, Steve Rogers has Falcon, Peggy and Bucky, and now it's Marvel's Luke Cage's turn to boast an impressive squad of both friends and enemies.

In the first category, Deadline reports that Simone Missick has been cast as a character named Missy, who is assumed to be Marvel's Misty Knight. Misty is a pretty badass lady -- she gets a bionic arm from Tony Stark after losing it in service with the NYPD -- and in the comics, she sets up a detective agency that often helps out Luke (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist, who's also getting his own Netflix series.

On the villain side, Deadline also reports that "Sons of Anarchy" favorite Theo Rossi will be joining the squad, alongside the previously announced baddie Black Mariah (Alfre Woodard). Rossi will play a character listed as Sonny, but since Marvel typically provides fake names, the rumor is that he'll be playing Cage's rival Shades, a.k.a. Alvarez. In the comics, Alvarez is in prison the same time as Shades -- but while Cage gets out and embraces the life of a hero-for-hire, Alvarez does exactly the opposite.

And lucky for us, Rossi already has a solid amount of experience shooting quality prison scenes:

Additionally, the soon-to-be Defenders' own Nick Fury, Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple, will appear in the series. She'll also star alongside Colter in "Marvel's Jessica Jones" later this year, and in the second season of "Daredevil" in 2016. "Luke Cage" will hit Netflix late in 2016.
