Dancer’s Incredible Flying Self Portraits Make It Look Like He Has Superpowers
One look at an image by photographer Mickael Jou and you might mistake it as a still from an "X-Men" movie. But this Taiwanese-French-American living in Paris has a very real power: talent.
Jou makes art by combining two of his unique abilities: ballet dancing and photography. He's been dancing for 10 years, but started his levitation project three years ago after performing in public for fun.
"I used to dance alone in the streets of Paris," Jou told MTV News. "My favorite spot was in front of City Hall (Hôtel de Ville.) I would perform there sometimes on the weekend, very informally, and tourists would just take pictures of me. Some of the tourists eventually sent me the photos and that's how I decided to start taking self-portraits."
When he realized some of these images where he's jumping looked like he had superpowers, he continued the trend and now has hundreds of images. None of the photos are photoshopped to make him float -- he's doing that all with the power of dance. ?
Take a look at some of his best levitation images below.
