Walk The Moon Had Us So Hype With Their 'Shut Up' Performance: Watch

We are so ready to dance, guys.

Are you guys ready for the VMAs? Well, too bad -- because Walk The Moon has a message for you: "Shut Up And Dance."

After hitting the red carpet in some seriously cool paint-splattered suits, the guys donned more toned-down threads to rip through their hit live on air during the VMA Pre Show -- plus a little tease of their new single "Different Colors." I get the suits now, dudes.

Ohio band Walk The Moon have been kicking around since 2008, but they broke out in a serious way with "Shut Up And Dance," off their 2014 album Talking Is Hard -- and its accompanying campy, '80s-themed dance video, which is up for Best Rock Video.

Despite not being one of our Song Of The Summer nominees, the jam has decidedly been EVERYWHERE during the hot months, perhaps due to a scientific songwriting secret that keeps the tune firmed planted in our brains -- and at the top of the charts.

Science and all that aside, the guys have set the tone for the upcoming 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, as we -- and Taylor Swift -- are certainly ready to dance throughout the ensuing ceremony. Shut up, though? I can't make any promises myself.
