Pharrell Williams Can't Wait To See Miley Cyrus 'Be Free' Hosting The VMAs

P is also hitting the stage himself to perform 'Freedom.'

There's really no point in trying to predict the specifics of what Miley Cryus will do as host of the 2015 VMAs -- and, thankfully, we'll find out soon enough -- but Pharrell Williams does have a sense of what to expect overall.

"Miley is -- she's a free spirit," Pharrell told MTV News about his "Come Get It Bae" collaborator. "And it's that time. It's the time for the free spirits to be free and not oppressed and suppressed. It's just a time for people to express themselves. That's what's so awesome about where we are right now -- not only in music but across all the arts. In the ether, the entire existence right now, people are just expressing themselves. And that's a good thing."

It's certainly a good thing -- and something that P himself will be doing when he hits the stage to perform "Freedom."

"Having the platform to perform 'Freedom,' it just means a lot to me because I like the way the record feels," he said. "I'm a feeling person. I just think, with this performance, we just wanna have a good time. I just want people to dance, let loose and literally have the freedom to express themselves whatever way they want to.

"It's your right: Express yourself."

Pharrell, Miley and a whole lot of other heavyweights -- from Nicki Minaj to Justin Bieber to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to The Weeknd -- will all be expressing themselves at the 2015 VMAs.
