We've all had the chance to jam out to VMA performer and nominee Justin Bieber's new single "What Do You Mean" approximately five bajillion times by now, and the lyrics are starting to sink in. Just like the name of the song is a question, we have a lot of questions.

Franchesca Ramsey, host of MTV News' Decoded webseries, delved into the meaning behind the Biebs' new song.

"It's all about Justin talking to this indecisive girl: are we doing this, are we not doing this? Are you into me, are you not into me? And at first I was like, uh, is this "Blurred Lines" 2.0?" she asks. "But after listening to the lyrics, it's actually the complete opposite."

Bieber is actually checking in with his partner, making sure everyone's on the same page and cool with everything that's going on.

"You can't deny that Justin Bieber has a ton of influence and a lot of young female and male fans who need to be exposed to this conversation," Ramsey argues.

"Relationships are complicated," she says. "It's OK to ask if you can move forward, it's OK to say no, it's OK to have apprehensions!"
