14 'Degrassi' Stars Who Totally Pulled A Neville Longbottom

Whatever it takes, you know?

"Degrassi: The Next Generation" may be over, but that's not stopping us from taking a minute to reflect on all of the important life lessons the Canadian teen show taught us. For example, be cautious when talking to randos on the Internet. Oh, and getting your period in the middle of class is super embarrassing, but all you need is a BFF to have your back (literally) and you'll be fine. And who could forget the age-old proverb, "No bracelet is worth gonorrhea."

But perhaps the biggest lesson "Degrassi" taught us about life is that no matter how awkward you look in middle school, you will grow up to be super effing hot. Don't believe us? Take it from these guys:

Sure, Jimmy, Spinner and Sean looked pretty ~cool~ in this mid-'00s snapchat, but their hotness is seriously on another level in 2015. Which "TNG" stars were the Neville Longbottoms of Degrassi High?

Miriam McDonald (Emma) then...

Emma Degrassi

Our central protagonist Emma Nelson was cute as a button when we first met her as a seventh grader in 2001. Back then, crimping was all the rage, so we can't really blame bb Emma for her love of crimped pigtails, but those early photos probably make Miriam McDonald cringe.

Miriam McDonald now...

McDonald, now 28, is still acting in Toronto, and judging from her Insta account, she's really into #fitspo selfies and brunching with her BFFs, which still includes her onscreen bestie Cassie Steele.

Cassandra Steele (Manny) then...

Manny Degrassi

Long before "thong-gate" and her trajectory to Degrassi's resident wild child, Manny Santos was the epitome of BFF. She was Emma's best friend, and a member of the Spirit Squad with popular girls Paige and Hazel. In many ways, she was a clique-chameleon. But it wasn't until season 3 that she really blossomed into the fierce and fabulous Manny we know and love. You know, the one who gave zero effs what you thought of her.

Cassandra Steele now...

Cassandra Steele, now 25, is still acting and making music in Los Angeles. Much like Manny, she's a free spirit who loves pizza, hangs and sending self-deprecating tweets.

Aubrey Graham (Jimmy) then...

Jimmy Degrassi

Before he became Drake, Aubrey Graham was Degrassi High's own Jimmy Brooks, Spinner's best friend and Ashley's BF. Before he was shot and paralyzed in season 4, Jimmy was an aspiring basketball star. Tall and lanky, Jimmy definitely had the skillz to go pro, but lucky for us, his accident only pushed him further into the music industry. In later seasons, Graham -- who had started to release rap demos in Toronto -- debuted some of his earliest raps on the show.

Aubrey Graham -- aka Drake -- now...

Drake may be an international rap superstar now, headlining music festivals and selling out arenas all over the world, but he'll never forget his "Degrassi" roots -- as evidenced by this recent reunion. You've come a long way, Jimmy. #StartedFromTheBottom

Sarah Barrable-Tishauer (Liberty) then...

Liberty Degrassi

Liberty was the show's original nerd back in season 1. She was a goody two-shoes who was way more interested in acing her science test than boys. (In hindsight, this was probably a good thing.)

Sarah Barrable-Tishauer (Liberty) now...

After playing a straight-laced character for so many seasons, Sarah Barrable-Tishauer, now 27, is embracing her creative side. She's a graphic designer and communications consultant, and one look at her Insta will give you serious FOMO.

Daniel Clark (Sean) then...

Daniel Clark

Sean was every girl's "Degrassi" crush at one point or another. (He nearly took a bullet for Emma!) He was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks with a heart of gold -- slouchy grey hoodie, beanie and all.

Daniel Clark now...

Daniel Clark, 29, is now a news producer and reporter, and unsurprisingly, he's a total media junkie. Oh, and did we mention he looks very good in a suit?

Annie Clark (Fiona) then...

Fiona Degrassi

Fiona was the closest thing Degrassi High had to Blair Waldorf, and for that, we loved her and her bats--t crazy antics. When we first met her, she was nothing more than a spoiled rich girl, but as time went all, we learned that life on the other side of the grass isn't always greener.

Annie Clark now...

Hello, gorgeous! Clark, now 23, graduated from the University of Toronto after studying film. She currently lives in Los Angeles, which is very Fiona of her.

Christina Schmidt (Terri) then...

terri-ashley

Terri was a tragic figure in "Degrassi" lore. Not because she wasn't effing awesome -- the girl could read tarot cards! -- but because of her sudden exit from the teen series. In season 3, Terri dated Rick, who was abusive. Her friends Paige and Ashley tried to tell her he was bad news, but this was her first bf and she ~loved~ him. That all changed one day when Rick violently shoved her to the ground. She had a concussion for a little while, and was eventually released from the hospital -- but we never saw her again.

Christina Schmidt now...

When she's not busy taking Kardashian-level selfies, Christina Schmidt works as a model. With a portfolio as gorgeous as this, we'd buy whatever she was selling.

Lauren Collins (Paige) then...

Paige Degrassi

Paige was Degrassi High's resident Queen Bee. She was kind of a spoiled brat in the beginning, which would explain why she wore shirts with "HOTTIE" branded across her chest for funsies. Then again, it was 2001 and that was the hottest trend. But Paige wasn't a mean girl for long. She won us over with her affinity for calling everyone "hun" -- and her riot grrrl band, PMS (Paige Michalchuk & the Sex Kittens).

Lauren Collins now...

Lauren Collins is now 29, but she can still pass for a Degrassi student, tbh. We're happy to see her love of logo t-shirts is long behind her.

Stacey Farber (Ellie) then...

Ellie Degrassi

With crazy colored hair, dark eye liner and piercings, Ellie was Degrassi's very own punk girl. She, too, experimented with a crimping iron -- oftentimes to more success than her classmates.

Stacey Farber now...

The hair dye and piercings may be gone, but Stacey Farber will always be our favorite ginger -- and the realest girl who ever stepped foot inside Degrassi High. The 28-year-old is still acting in Toronto, where most recently, she played a doctor on the CTV series "Saving Hope."

Charlotte Arnold (Holly J) then...

Holly J Degrassi

As the former student council president and Power Squad captain, Holly J. was a bit of an overachiever. This didn't give her much time to focus on her beauty regime before school (sleep > mascara). That is, until she started dating "Degrassi" playboy Declan.

Charlotte Arnold now...

Those curls! We're living for Charlotte Arnold's Instagram these days. It's the perfect balance between selfies and fabulous scenes from her picture-perfect life.

Shane Kippel (Spinner) then...

Spinner Degrassi

Oh, Spinner. We have so many conflicted feelings over Jimmy's best friend. Spin used to be a bully. He picked on Emma and Manny for being, what, a year younger than him? But he was the one with the frosted tips! That's just a damn travesty.

Shane Kippel now...

Who could have guessed that the Spinner we met in season 1 would grow up to be this hot? Because it definitely wasn't us.

Shenae Grimes-Beech (Darcy) then...

Darcyrte

Darcy had a rep for being insufferably perfect. But way back in season 4, before she was a regular on "Degrassi," Darcy was just a girl, standing in front her mirror, asking herself what Jesus Camp hoodie she should wear to school that day. (The pink one. Always the pink one.)

Shenae Grimes-Beech now...

Shanae Grimes was always edgier than her Degrassi counterpart, so when it came time to graduate, the actress went straight from the 6 to 90210. Now married and living one fabulous life (at least, according to her Insta), Grimes-Beech is still acting -- and even stepping behind the camera, too.

Aislinn Paul (Clare) then...

Clare Degrassi

Clare used to be the biggest wet blanket that ever graced the halls of Degrassi. She refused to wear anything other than her Catholic School uniform because she was so ~pure~ and too good for her morally average peers. Clare eventually learned the value of a pair of comfy jeans and a little mascara as her time at Degrassi went on. By Year 10, she was actually having fun with fashion! (And boys, but that's a whole other story.)

Aislinn Paul now...

Aislinn Paul is nothing like Clare IRL. The young actress is a trained dancer and self-proclaimed nerd who loves a good Peter Pan collar and obsessively lurking on Tumblr. You can catch her in the "Heroes Reborn" prequel web series, "Dark Matters."

A.J. Saudin (Connor) then...

TeenNick

Connor Degrassi

Sure, Connor wasn't a total bae when he made his "Degrassi" debut in season 8, but he was very smart. And that definitely counts for something! Of course, as time went on, we started to notice a change in Connor -- and it wasn't just his social anxieties...

A.J. Saudin now...

In case you didn't know, HE'S A TOTAL BAE NOW.
