'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Might Add An Openly Transgender Model To Cast

Plus, a 'Facts Of Life' actress might also be coming on board.

Between the E! reality show "I Am Cait," the ABC Family docuseries "Becoming Us," the latest season of "Big Brother" and the upcoming TLC series "I Am Jazz," unscripted television is slowly starting to become a more welcoming place for stories about transgender women. Now, it looks like Bravo's series "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" might be next.

According to inside sources who've spoken to Variety, TMZ and Entertainment Weekly, the show will be adding transgender model Amiyah Scott to its upcoming eighth season, possibly to replace former cast member NeNe Leakes.

Scott was in attendance at a haircare launch party held by 'RHOA' cast member Kenya Moore on Monday, and is reportedly "friends with a lot of the ladies" on the show, according to EW's source. As of now it's unclear whether she'll appear as a full-time member of the "Housewives" or as a supporting guest -- production is still currently underway on the season, and Bravo has so far declined to comment on any casting at the moment.

Reports from TMZ also suggest that Kim Fields from "The Facts Of Life" will also join the show as well. NeNe Leakes, who up until now has been a part of the show since its inception in 2006, told People earlier this summer that she's left to work on a new "primetime" project.
