HBO's 'Deadwood' Could Become The Next TV Series To Return From The Grave

Al Swearengen should start getting ready for his movie debut.

The doors have been closed on "Deadwood" for almost ten years now, and fans of the HBO Western are still angrier about it than Sheriff Seth Bullock on a bad (regular?) day.

The fact that HBO ended the series after three seasons, despite there being much more story to tell (not to mention the promise of TV movies to wrap everything up), remains a sore subject for the devoted "Deadwood" faithful.

Over the years, anger has given way to sadness, and sadness has given way to desperation, with even the tiniest drop of "Deadwood" news enough to keep us going.

Well, here's the biggest drop yet: Garrett Dillahunt, who played two roles on "Deadwood" as Wild Bill Hicock assassin Jack McCall and psychotic geologist Francis Wolcott, revealed on Twitter that there are finally some new talks about HBO reviving "Deadwood" as a movie.

For its part, HBO responded to Dillahunt's tweet with some confirmation: "In reference to Garret Dillahunt’s tweet regarding the rumored 'Deadwood' movie, there have only been very preliminary conversations."

Very preliminary conversations are still better than no conversations, and they're enough to get us doing an Al Swearengen happy dance.
