This Is What Dr. Dre Plans To Do With His 'Compton' Royalties
Dr. Dre - one of the wealthiest men in music - is set to make a huge donation for a worthy cause.
The producer has announced that he will donate royalties from his new Compton LP to construct a performing arts center in his hometown. The legendary beatsmith made this confirmation on Beats 1 radio Thursday (Aug. 6), according to Complex.
If this is true, it could be huge for the community because it would mean checks would continue rolling in for years.
This wouldn’t be the first time Dre has donated towards an academic setting. You might recall the opening of USC’s Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.
The Good Doctor's Compton is scheduled to be released exclusively through Apple Music today.
