Gigi Hadid Is 'Wrecked By Success' In This Short Film

Somebody unplug that phone already.

Gigi Hadid is ready to take a step away from the runway and up to the Oscar podium. Yes, really.

For V Magazine, the model has presented her alter-ego as a semi-silent film star, appearing in Sebastian Faena's short "Those Wrecked By Success."

Although she does boast one key moment of voice-over–an intentionally generic Academy Award acceptance speech–she's otherwise completely mute as she ignores a never-ending series of phone calls, retrieves her front-door milk (!!) and newspaper delivery, takes a trek through the waist-high brush just because, and then goes for a dip in her underpants. All without a single solitary word.

According to V's caption for the vid, here's what she's supposed to be thinking about during all that quiet reflection time: "Going through the motions and daily monotony of an otherwise unchanged life–different and yet impossibly the same–our heroine hides from the world as she wanders her Hollywood mansion and memories past, contemplating the nature of success and what truly happens when you get everything you've ever wanted." Did you get all that?

This isn't Hadid's first short film, of course. As you well know by now, she also appeared in Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" music video, but before that, there was another short film for the American Film Institute in 2012, called "Virgin Eyes."

Interestingly enough, "Virgin Eyes" could easily serve as a prequel to "Wrecked By Success," and it would make perfect sense. Watch it, and you'll see what we mean.
