Caitlyn Jenner Received A Standing Ovation Just For Being Herself, Obviously

Nothing but good karma… chameleon.

Caitlyn Jenner knows how to get a party started. The ESPY winner and reality show star received a standing ovation after she introduced the recently reunited Culture Club at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday night (July 24).

“Caitlyn Jenner in the house for her first Boy George concert!” she announced to the cheering crowd. “This is going to be a good group. Thank you so much. Enough about me. Thank you for being here tonight. This is so much fun for me. Let’s hear here it at The Greek Theatre for Boy George! Let’s get it going!”

And going it got. A montage of Culture Club’s finest moments played on a screen behind Jenner as she sauntered off in black, knee-high leather boots to rejoin he crowd. Boy George and his band took the stage and played their 1983 hit “It’s a Miracle.”

George thanked Jenner for the intro and gave the enthusiastic crowd some props for the standing O.

“I expected a standing ovation for her and I wasn’t disappointed,” he said. “We need to celebrate the kinds of changes that are happening.”

In an interview with the Associated Press on Thursday, Boy George praised Jenner as a powerful example of that change.

“The power of being yourself is so huge,” he said. “I mean, you see it with Caitlyn Jenner, at this point being allowed to be who she is is so powerful it’s permeating everything.”

Jenner danced the night away with friend and actress Candis Cayne.

"I Am Cait" premieres tomorrow night at 8 on E!
