The Weeknd Is Making History With His New Music

Hits on hits on hits.

The Weeknd has been on fire lately.

Ever since "Earned It" dropped in December 2014 -- so, really, that "lately" has spanned more than half a year -- the Toronto-born singer and his jams have been in constant rotation on radio, streaming services and your iTunes. And he's just reached a new milestone thanks to their popularity.

Abel has become the first artist to occupy the top three positions on the Billboard Hot R&B chart, with "Earned It" (No. 3) and his two follow ups, "The Hills" (No. 2) and "Can't Feel My Face" (No. 1).

The chart is only three years old, but it's still an impressive feat, and an indication of the zone that The Weeknd is in, and how much fans are devouring his new music -- and then devouring it some more.

His domination isn't reserved for the Hot R&B chart, though: On the Hot 100, he's holding down the No. 3, No. 12 and No. 18 spots, and No. 5, No. 6 and No. 9 on the Streaming Songs chart. Basically, he's having a moment.

And that moment will likely continue when he drops his upcoming album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which is due out on August 28.
