Yes, Dan Aykroyd Will Have That 'Ghostbusters' Cameo

'Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!'

Dan Aykroyd (a.k.a. Dr. Raymond Stantz) has long been a close friend to the reboot-slash-sequel process involved with Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters."

Whereas some of his former O.G. (Original Ghostbusters) proton pack-wearers have been pretty ho hum about getting involved, Aykroyd's been a vocal champion for the newest round of goo-gunning (he even co-wrote the script with Katie Dippold).

So, it's only fitting that his character Ray should live to see another day, and Aykroyd himself has now confirmed that he'll be making his due cameo in the new installment.

"On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig Lady GB's are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilarating! #ghostbusters," the actor tweeted -- then deleted -- on Tuesday (July 14).

Aykroyd has previously expressed his excitement over the female-led cast of the new "Ghostbusters" chapter, writing on Facebook that his "heart soars for Melissa, Kristen, Kate, Leslie and Paul who are about to have the time of their lives and who also will deliver an exciting, high quality, massive hit movie."

Looks like he'll also get to share in all of that ghostbusting joy one more time.

"Ghostbusters" will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
