21 Lessons Kristin Cavallari Needs To Teach Her Future Daughter
Now that we know former MTV reality star turned designer Kristin Cavallari is expecting her third child, it’s time to discuss this sure-to-be-flawless human’s future.
Kristin is already a mom to two sons — Camden Jack, 2, and Jaxon Wyatt, 14 months — but this will be her first baby girl with husband Jay Cutler. And as such, there are so, so many important life lessons their daughter needs to learn about navigating this crazy world as a woman.
Thankfully, she'll have no better instructor than her mom, who so generously shared her life with us on “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills.” Sure, Kristin was never perfect (sometimes far from it), but she gave us a ton of sage, hilarious advice during her reality TV tenure.
So, future Kristin Jr., here's everything your mom can teach you from her MTV glory days:
Drama can be exhausting, but a little bit can actually be a good thing (especially when it launches your career. Just sayin’).
Never, ever be afraid to stand up for yourself.
Jealousy is a powerful emotion and an even more effective weapon. Use it sparingly but potently.
Try to make the most of awkward situations.
Don’t let any guy talk to you like this.
For real… never let ANYONE make you feel bad about something as harmless as dancing (gawd, Ste-PHEN).
One of the most important traits we hope you’ll inherit from your mom is her mastery of the eye roll.
And then there’s her “ugh” stank face you’ll want to perfect.
Sometimes tough love is necessary, even with your closest friends.
Know when to cut people out of your life. It sucks, but it’s sometimes necessary.
Attraction is powerful, and you shouldn’t try to repress it.
Life can be sucky, and it’s OK to feel bad about it once in a while.
When you make a mistake, own up to it.
Your mom was also the queen of flirting, so you’ll want to pick up those little tricks as well.
Never be afraid to wear white to a black and white party (just be prepared to dodge a lot of jealous glares, *cough cough LC*).
Your mom thrived in California, so you should probs live there too at some point in your life.
Don’t bother with other people’s petty problems.
Shopping can be therapeutic. Plus, your mom has THE most killer fashion sense, so don’t be afraid to let her style you.
Your first real love will probably be amazing and whimsical and full of ups and downs.
And even though it might not work out in the end, you’ll have the best memories from it.
And perhaps your mom’s most notorious lesson of all: there’s a difference between being a bitch and being honest. Learn it, live it.
