If you're one of the millions of us who've been stricken with Sanrio fever at some point in your life, this is pretty much the best news ever.

A Hello Kitty movie is happening. We repeat: A HELLO KITTY MOVIE IS HAPPENING!!

That sound you hear right now is us purring with delight.

Per Deadline, Sanrio - the Japanese company which coined the iconic cartoon cat that was a staple images on all of our No. 2 pencils, lunchboxes, sweatshirts and everything else growing up - has finally decided to take bow-accessorized feline to the cinema. And her long-awaited close-up will be no small thing, either.

The budget for the film will be somewhere between $160 million-$240 million (read: HUGE), so when we finally do get to say hello to our animated feline friend on the big screen, it'll be an event.

No word yet on which of Kitty's famous friends like Kerokerokeroppi, Pekkle, Pippo, or Bad Badtz-Maru will also make a cameo in the pic, but hopefully it'll be a full-on family affair just like the Hello Kitty theme part that opened in China last month (yes, that is a thing that happened).

Now all we need is a Lisa Frank movie and our childhood is officially resurrected.
