That's a headline I never thought I'd write, but Vince Staples really has me out here thinking. The Long Beach rapper released his debut album Summertime '06 on Def Jam today -- it's a powerful and thought provoking body of work, by the way -- but he's also been busy promoting someone else: Ray J.

I first caught wind of this during his appearance on "Real Late With Rosenberg," when Tyler, the Creator asked him to explain his Ray J theory, and he went right in with, "Ray will never lose. Ray J is the man. Ray J is probably top 5 hip-hop west coast of all time." Oh really?

When asked for more proof, he had the ammo ready, firing off, "You like Kanye West music, don't you? You like 'Moesha,' don't you? You Like VH1 don't you? Ray J has had a hand in everything that's occurred in black culture."

He's not even joking, which is the best part.

Things got a lil' wild, when Vince claimed that Fabolous' alleged altercation with Ray J hurt his career, but besides that, this is thoroughly entertaining.

Next, he went on to tell GQ even more about how awesome Ray J is.

"When you Google 'Ray J' these are the people that come up that are associated with him: Kim Kardashian, Brandy, Kanye West, Whitney Houston, Damon Thomas, Kris Humphries, Reggie Bush, Lil’ Kim, Robert Kardashian, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Omarion," he said. "You show me someone who has such a star-studded line-up associated with them and then we can have a conversation."

How do you even argue with this? Now I'm wondering whether we've been calling Ray J a troll all this time, for no reason?

Well..."I Hit It First" was definitely trolling, but not the way Vince sees it. "Ray J knows how to make the moment about him," he added.

Ain't that the truth.
