On Instagram Wednesday (June 24), Selena shared this throwback pic of herself as a wee one clutching onto her mother Mandy Teefey -- which ... first of all, a moment of appreciation for that signature smirk and halter top, please? Because homegirl was clearly a star even back then.

As for her mom, um, wowza! The Gomez girls have some good genes. And on a semi-related note, that jean jacket she was rocking there is also pretty boss.

As for the sappy stuff, Selena captioned the snap with a tearjerker dedication to her mom, writing, "The reason I wake up every morning. She's the reason I am who I am. Every part of me is her. I love you momma. I'm proud to be your daughter."

And we thought we might get through a whole day without tears, but now that's out the window. Way to take a giant tug on our heartstrings, Selena.
