Would you love the opportunity to make your ex take a lie detector test? What if you had to agree to take the test, too? Would it still be worth it to find out what really happened with that "friend" from the gym if you had to own up to the times you were less than perfect? Elite Daily put ex-couples to the test, and the results are, well, about as uncomfortable as you'd expect.

Sitting across from each other, the pairs are caught off-guard by the lie detector machine. It sits ominously underneath a black sheet until it's finally unveiled and inspires one girl to say, "This is gonna be hell." Yep, pretty much.

But it starts off well enough, with one girl asking her former boyfriend if he ever thought they could get married. (He answered with a relieving "Yes.") Then it goes downhill fast when the questions get a little trickier, like "Did you ever want to sleep with one of my friends?" and "Do you think we had bad sex?"

While transparency and communication are key to a healthy relationship, this video makes it pretty clear that the same doesn't necessarily hold true for exes. Some things really are just better left unsaid.
